The boy born in the twilight hour of 29th January 1896 at Bajitpur village of Faridpur District of undivided Bengal in a respectable Bhuniya family,Had in later life stood Out in the name of Swami Pranabananda, the founder of Bharat Seveshram Sangha.
He was addressed in three names, Budhai at the time of birth, Benode during student Life and Pranabananda during his sanyas. His father Bishnu Charan Bhuniya and Mother Sarada Devi.
The village people watch his activities from his childhood used to addressed him sadhu.
Village Bajitpur was not immured from the influence of Swadeshi movement that was Sweeping the then Bengal. The British Govt. imprisoned Benode even through he Had not the close link with the revolutionaries. The authorities however related him Watching in awe the spiritual practices that he rigorously followed in jail.
Frome his childhood Benode not to engage himself in practicing stiff spiritual Exercises in the solitude of his home or in the own inspiring cremation ground at Dead of night.
He would offend say -“ I do not regard them who merely indulges in self pleasure. One Is merely on inanimate object whose heart does not echo in the sufferings of one’s Countrymen and does not get affected at the preventions of the people .” He himself Was totally dedicated 1:o the service of his country and the people. During natural Disaster he was the Saviour. In famine he was the fountain headfor providing food to The hungry. He was God personified during epidemics. He founded Sevashrams Through which he used to vender service and reliefs to the distressed people. Finally, Consolidating till Sevashrams he founded “ Bharat Seveashram Sangha” . it is now a Well known name in different parts of the world .
To save people from the clutches of the pandas in various holy cities of India, he had Affected reforms in the process of offering Pujas to the devotees and it was Gaya That he established the first branch of Sangha, thereby benefiting lacks and lacks of Devotees.
Swami Pranabananda possessed supernatural qualities of head and heart, it was Because of his extraordinary power, he could extricate people in distress, affected Mentally and physically.
He was regarded as an AVATAR, heralding a new age.
His extraordinary qualities and personalities attracted eminent personalities like Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Das, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Acharya Prafulla Chandra Roy, Dr.Bidhan Chandra Roy to his side.
Swami Pranabananda is no more, But he lives in his deeds. He was passing away on The 8th January 1941 in the midst of his Samadhi at quite; a tender age was a terrible Loss for Humanity.
